pretty polish memo board.

I decided I needed a little more of a polished/glam feeling for the memo board above my desk, so I gave a vintage frame that I already had a little makeover. It was really simple & inexpensive, but looks great!

I spray painted my frame white first (it was previously grey) and then spray painted it silver. I also spray painted some chicken wire white, and then attached it to the frame.

I found these mini clothes pins at a local craft store and spray painted them to glam them up a bit

I think the new memo board definitely helps to achieve the look I am going for, while continuing to be functional. Pretty good for less than $15!

This looks great.

So funny b/c I currently have a big rectangle of chicken wire sitting under some heavy books to straighten out. Im using some in the exact same way for my hallway.

Did you have a problem getting the chicken wire to lay flat? How did you tame it?

Kelly, your post could not be more timely! I'm in the process of trying to create a classy, yet functional way of displaying a memo/message board ... I'm BLOWN AWAY by this one!

Quick question: How did you attach the wire to the back of the frame. Was a staple gun sufficient?

Fabulous :)!

I just went section by section, bending little pieces of the chicken wire until it was flat.

Then...I used screws to secure it and really stretched it to make it even flatter. Hope that helps!

i REALLY think my mister needs to start reading your blog. because he thinks i'm the only person in the world that decorates and then redoes it 3 months later. and then maybe 3 months later again. and it drives. him. nuts. and i'm happy to know that i'm not the ONLY one ;) LOVE this lady! hope to see you soon!

Love this! My grandmother offered me a vintage round mirror a while back that reminds me of this frame and I declined to accept her offer. It's gold, and gold is not my thing... but thinking back, the shape and ornate detailing is beautiful and some white (or silver) spray paint may just make it stunning. I'm calling her now. :) Thanks for the inspiration.

question: where do you keep your printer? Mine takes up much of my desk.

Carla: I have a wireless printer/scanner/copier combo, so I have it in hidden space. Wireless is the way to go for that exact reason!!
