I could not adore this photo more. My dad took it yesterday, on Tucker's first Christmas, which also happened to be a white Christmas. Thanks, Dad!

wrapping with scraps.

Don't be so quick to throw away those little scraps of wrapping paper, or run to the store when you're out of ribbon. Consider making a gift tag pocket by folding a scrap of wrapping paper into a pocket; securing it with a piece of tape on the back of the package. Cute, huh?

Like the gift tags? Get your own free printable version here.

little joys.

Finished! I'm finished shopping! It's nice to take a breath, relax and notice the small things making me smile today.

1. STARBUCKS.  Today's version is iced since it's 70 degrees.  I'm thankful that tomorrow we'll be in the 40s (thank you cold front, tonight) so it will actually feel like Christmas  2. THE LAST GIFT purchased and ready to be wrapped.  Why, oh why do you have to be so hard to shop for, Dad?!  3. & 4.  FREE PRINTABLE GIFT TAGS.  I printed mine out on card stock and they are so lovely.  Get them for yourself, for free, here .  5. CHRISTMAS CARDS!  No explination needed.  6. TUCKER'S FABULOUS NEW COLLAR.  Because the dog bowls were not enough for my precious pup.  He gets to start wearing this tomorrow.

What made you smile today?

12.22.2009

sneaky pup.

Apparently, my sister's dog Olive does not want to wait until Christmas to open gifts...

Funny, the one she was trying to open is for Erin (my sis.)

hello...

...it's almost Christmas! Can you believe it?
Can you believe I still have one person to get gifts for? In my defense...this person is SO VERY HARD to buy for. It's going to have to wait until tomorrow. I have gift wrapping & blog designing to do after all. Is anyone else a late shopper like me?

p.s.  Gift certificates are available @ fabulous k creative for last minute gifts.  Who would not want a new blog design for Christmas!

Oh, and don't forget to enter the giveaway below!  Cutest baby booties, ever!

ice.

This weekend, Robbie's nephew Trey came to stay with him. Last night we took Trey to ICE at the Gaylord Texan. I went last year & this year was just as good (and cold!) Robbie & Trey had never been but they both loved it.

After waiting in line for quite a bit...we made it inside. I am still amazed that everything is made out of ice! Oh, and I should mention...it's NINE degrees inside, hence the sweet parkas they gave us. (I feel for those of you that live in those temps.) The craziest thing is...when it's all over, they dump everything into Lake Grapevine to melt. I'd love to see that.

The Gaylord was decorated flawlessly, as usual...and I loved that they embrace white trees & garland with brighly colored ornaments like I do!

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

I just might have to leave her this sparkly year round...

p.s. does anyone else love all white (wire) Christmas lights as much as I do?

brown paper packages tied up with string...

Getting closer to finishing my gifts...
Happy Saturday.

one week.

Christmas is in one week from today.
My birthday is a week from Tuesday.  Just sayin'.

How did that happen?  Where did 2009 go?
Are all your gifts bought?
Are they wrapped?

If you answered 'yes' then you are a step ahead of me. (At least I am officially on Christmas break now.) Speaking of wrapping presents...are you not so inspired by the wrap job above? I would not want to open them; they're so pretty. Found here .

Have a lovely weekend...anyone else spending it tying up loose Christmas ends (like me?)

the many looks of mister t.

Note: This post is for all you dog lovers out there. :)

Occasionally, I have to brush Tucker's hair (something he loves...seriously...he loves it.) It gets really fluffy and cotton-y after being brushed, which makes for some really interesting doggie hairstyles. Case in point:

and my personal favorite...

They're chocolate covered ritz crackers with peanut butter in the middle. Yum.

I can't get over the fact that Christmas and my birthday are so close. And...I am having a hard time finding a gift for certain someones.  This time last year I was thinking about my 30th birthday/new year's trip to Cabo. This year I'll be here for new years and we have no plans yet. Oh joy.

genius.

I love this idea, found while thumbing through my latest issue of InStyle (with Whitney on the cover.)

It gives the illusion of a fabric covered headboard without the hassel of covering one yourself. And...it would be so easy to change for the seasons. I feel a 2010 project coming on...

12.15.2009

only 10 days...

...until Christmas!
I can't believe it.

Guess I better make sure I get these sent out TODAY!

12.14.2009

my tree.

As most of you already know...this year I got a white Christmas tree as a gift from mama fabulous. (Modern white, not flocked.) It's trimmed with white lights, shades of pink, green and silver ornaments and lots of glitter and glam. Next year I'd love to make it all silver and white, or even add turquoise to the pink and green. This season though...I'm loving the freshness of the white...and the fact that it looks fabulous day AND night!

christmas for the dogs.

Sometimes you can't wait until Christmas to gift a gift. Since the gift I gave early was to my dog...I think it's ok. I bought these adorable (and affordable) food/water bowls from a local shop here in Dallas. They are too cute to go under the tree wrapped up and waiting for Christmas. I think Tucker really likes them...that pup has good taste.

traditional christmas.

Welcome Nester readers!
I'm excited to share some holiday cheer with you all. Feel free to click around my blog for giveaways and more holiday themed posts, including posts from my house as well.  Today...I'm sharing photos of the decorations my mom & I put up together at her beautiful home.

There is absolutely no doubt that I get my love of decorating from mama fabulous. We spend hours pouring over our favorite shops looking for little treasures to incorporate into the decor at both our homes (sometimes even buying the same thing.)  Christmastime is no different. (In fact, as far back as I can remember, my parent's house has always been perfectly decorated for this time of year.) My mom's Christmas decorating can best be described as traditional, with a hint of rustic & whimsy. Trust me, it works. I was lucky enough to spend a day helping her decorate this year and wanted to show you some of the fruits of our labor. I wish I could show you every single detail. There's truly a little bit of Christmas every where you look. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoy the decor. And...I hope you are feeling the spirit of Christmas now more than ever!

Wait! There's more! CLICK HERE to see my glamourous, white Christmas tree!

my comment section is...

I am SO VERY ANNOYED & FRUSTRATED with Blogger at the moment.  My comments section has not been working since MONDAY.  So...if you've left me a comment since then, I have not gotten it.  We all know we blog for comments...and to have none, well, sucks.  Mama Fabulous & I were so excited to hear what ya'll thought about the post below and we got nothin'. I had some friends post comments to test if they were working, and low and behold...they're not.  They never show up in my dashboard to approve.  If you post a comment, it just goes off into another world and I don't get to see it.  So sad.  The worst part...I've gotten NO HELP from Blogger.  It makes me want to switch hosts at this point. I can't even find a way to contact them directly because all they let you do in their {so called} help section is let you post a question.  Seriously?  That's helping?  Ugh.  Is anyone else having this problem? Or...does anyone else know how to fix this/get a hold of blogger?  If so...please email me at fabulousk {at} ymail {dot} com.  I have giveaways to post and can't because I will not get the comments.  SO FRUSTRATING.  I miss my blog friends and their feedback!

Ok, rant over...for now.

Hope your weekend is wonderful, lovelies!

GOOD NEWS....I was able to figure out how to manually get my comments! Thanks to everyone that has left me some.  You never know how precious they are until you are not getting them!!  (And thanks to those that have emailed me...I love all my blog friends out there!)  Comment away!

wrapping crush.

...definitely one of my favorite things!

I think I've found how I am going to be wrapping my Christmas gifts this year, thanks to this little shop.  I love the vintage feel of their packaging.  So cute.

I could think of a million things to do with this kit:

Don't you love the simplicity?

No fancy bow & wrapping paper for me this year...bring on the brown paper & twine!

holiday pretties.

It's so gloomy and cold here today...but I love it. It feels so holiday! I designed and ordered my Christmas cards yesterday...and I love them. Seriously...I can't wait to see how they turn out. I'll share the design with you once they are all mailed out.   Don't you love sending cards out?

It's so easy to find such pretty inspiration this time of year...I love all of these:

Clockwise, from top left: 1.  peppermint sticks  2.  red berries   3.  lace paper doilies  4.  button wreath  5. untitled

Hope you are all having a lovely, {holiday} inspired day...filled with warmth & hot chocolate!

12.07.2009

holiday cheer.

Why not bring a little holiday cheer to your desk/office? I added this cute little wreath and season's greetings sign to the bulletin board above my desk. I spend so much time at the computer and this little piece of holiday cheer definitely makes me smile!

peace.

Remember the cute glittery initial ornaments I bought and told you I had a plan for?  Well, here's how they ended up:

I made a little peace/snowflake swag and added it to a mirror with a lovely floppy bow. What do you think?  I've seen them on lots of blogs (probably because they are so very fabulous & CHEAP), and I have to say...love my use for them.

Don't forget: Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to enter the GIVEAWAYS below! I'll post the winners on Sunday. Good luck!

snowflakes & such.

Are you all enjoying the giveaways? I am so happy so many of your are entering...and want to thank all of you AND shops participating. Giveaways are SO FUN! Speaking of giveaways...head over to the Living Proof Ministries blog for a chance to win a blog makeover from yours truly! Gotta love the giving spirit of Christmas!

This week we've had a major cold snap...and I am loving it. It's just feels like Christmas now. We saw a teeny bit of snow yesterday, and are due for a little bit more tomorrow. (I'm just crossing my fingers it comes AFTER work and not during!) Speaking of snow...I wanted to share a few pretty snowflakes decorating my house. There's something about that delicate white that I love.

On another note...I saw these chairs as I was walking by a little shop near my house on the way to starbucks. They are so amazing that I had to take a picture. I'm in love with them. So pretty.

Well, that's all for now...enjoy the giveaways...I'll post the winners on Sunday!
