twilight lovers...

...what do you think?
Are you excited to see 'New Moon'?
I am.

music & movies

How lovely has the weather this weekend been? This is the first weekend in a while that we have not had rain--it's beautiful!  Very summer-y!

My weekend has been good...Friday night we went and saw our friends The Campaign perform at the House of Blues. They opened for a band called Alpha Rev that was really good as well. After, we met up with a bunch of people at The Quarter Bar for our friend's 30th birthday. It was fun--but I was out waaaaay too late!  It's been a while since we shut the bar down...I think I am too old for that! :)
Yesterday, Robbie & I went to see "UP" in 3D.  It was good...but there were SO MANY sad parts!  I cried!!  Make sure you take some kleenex when you go see it!

That's all for now...I hope you all enjoy your Sunday!  I think I am going to relax, work on blog designs and hang out with this little guy:
Oh...the MTV Movie Awards are on tonight! They are showing the FIRST "New Moon" movie preview. Can't wait!! Happy Sunday!

sweet little seahorse...

I have posted about erin over @ the vintage pearl before...she is so talented.  I could not help but swoon at this lovely necklace today.  how cute it is for summer? (I'd love it on a longer chain!)  check out her new line of enameled jewelry...it's fabulous!

Have a great weekend everyone.  It's feels like summer is here (I even spent some time at the pool this week...love it!)

happy birthday dad!

Today is my dad's 55th birthday!
One of the things that we share is our love for photography
He gave me one of my favorite, most coveted possessions...
my amazing Nikon camera.

I love my dad's photography.  In fact, much of it is displayed in my house.  In my option, there is no better decor.  In honor of his birthday today, I am sharing a few of my favorite pictures he's taken of some of my favorite "friends". Hope you enjoy!

tori & dean

I never really loved Tori Spelling...until I started watching her show.  It seems that's the story for most people. Whether or not she's as down to earth in 'real' life as she seems on the show....who knows.  Either way, I am excited for the new season!

In honor of the first show of the new season starting tonight, I thought I would post pictures of the {amazing} renovation they did on their house last season.  I love it all...so colorful, fun & outside the box.  I could move right in and not have to change a single thing.

Enjoy the eye candy below...and the show if you watch! :)

P.S.  I ready Tori's book "sTori Telling".  Pretty fun read!!

happy memorial day

I give thanks to all that have served and are serving to protect out country and the freedoms we enjoy and take for granted on a daily basis, including my cousin Jonathan, who is currently serving our country in Iraq.  May God Bless and Protect you always.  There are not enough ways to say thank you for what you do.

happy birthday colin!

Today is my younger brother's 24th birthday.  I remember the day he was born...I was in kindergarten.  I felt so special because my kindergarten teacher {who I loved} gave me her home phone number to call and tell her when my baby brother arrived.  I remember standing up on the stool in our kitchen and calling Ms. Traster on the speaker phone with the help of my mom's friend, Martha, who was watching my sister & I.  It was all so exciting!

Even though he's a grown man now, he'll always be my baby brother. :)

Happy Birthday Colin!
I hope this year is your best yet!

happy wednesday!

Tucker wanted nothing to do with getting out of bed this morning...

And because I have not posted a pic of my sis' dog {Olive} lately,
here's one from Mother's Day:
She was sunbathing on the chaises in the backyard. :)
Have a great Wednesday!

the tarnished crown

First of all...this is my THIRD post today!  Pretty good, huh?  I meant to actually post this last week...it's too good not to share.  I was lucky enough to receive 2 very fabulous pillows from Rose over at The Tarnished Crown.  She makes these amazing handmade pillows that are so beautiful.  I can't even tell you how excited I was to open the package from her and see this:

She also sent me a beautiful burlap pillow with an "S" on it {my last name} that I gave to my mom after she oooh'd & ahhh'd over it.  I should have taken a picture...it's gorgeous!

I love the details, like the unfinished edge of the pillow & the crown.  It's very vintage & shabby. SO me!

At first I thought I was going to put it on my bed, but had set it down on the chair below and decided that I actually loved it there, so it stayed.  I adore the contrast of vintage & modern.

Thank you for the pillows, Rose.  You are so talented!  They are absolutely lovely!

new moon.

Now, I know this post will not appeal to some of you...but for those of you that love "Twilight" this is for you.  The movie studio released the official "New Moon" movie posters.  New Moon was my least favorite but I can't wait for the movie, mainly because I miss reading the books. (Does anyone else feel the same way?)

If you ever have some time to waste or are just plain bored {Robbie}, then check out this blog. It's got a lot of "guess where we saw so & so out last night", which I don't really care about, but it does have some fun stuff from the set of the movie.  I have no idea why I like this series so much; I just do.

Just be glad I am not posting this to my sidebar:

Ok, that's all the Twilight talk...for now...
HA! :)

fabulous favorites

There are so many things that I think of every day that I think would be fun to share with you all.  Things I love, are fabulous & make it to my list of favorites.  I thought I'd start sharing them with you every week...and hopefully they will make it onto your favorites list!  This week I am sharing my favorite hair products.  Let me start of by saying that I am very picky & have tried EVERYTHING!  The products below are products I am currently using...and the best part is...most of them can be found at a drug store (at budget friendly prices!)

I love the way this one smells! It's amazing!

This stuff makes my hair feel so soft & smooth.

I use this once a month to clear away the residue & add shine.
My mom introduced me to this line by tresemme.
It gives volume without making your hair feel stiff.
I don't use these everyday, but the dry shampoo smells amazing
& the serum makes my hair straight & glossy.
So, there you have it.  My {current} hair favorites.  Tell me...is this something you all would want to participate in?  Should I put up a Mr. Linky & cute blog button so you can post your fabulous favorites & link it here?  Leave me a comment if you'd like to participate each week!

are you gonna watch?

After the ridiculous-ness that was the last bachelor...I'm curious...are ya'll gonna watch this one? I think the answer is Y-E-S for me.  Kind of lame, I know, but I can't help it.  So, is anyone with me on this?  It starts TONIGHT!  Maybe the producers will redeem themselves with this show...

we ♥ kenny chesney.

Seriously, we do. We had so much fun at his Dallas make-up show last night.  My best friend Sue & I went and enjoyed 3 hours of concert-y goodness. We got there about half an hour before doors opened because it was general admission.  You either had floor or bowl seats, but after you got in the bowl or on the field then you could sit/stand anywhere. (It all depended on what seats you had the first time around...we had floor.)  Originally, they had actual chairs on the floor...this time, not so much.  We started out standing in this:

After about half an hour, we decided we'd like this better:
So we went up and sat in the bowl so we could have seats.  And let me tell you...they played THREE hours.  I can't imagine standing with all those people on the floor for the entire 5 hours we were there.  Seats =  genius!

Sue & I waiting for Kenny to come on

There he is!!  7:30 pm start.

There was lots of crowd participation...

...and a lot of Kenny singing all by himself.  *sigh.*
He played 2 hours (his normal show?!) and then came back and played another hour long encore.  He said he wanted to make it up to all of us that stood in the middle of a rain storm for his last show.  It was awesome.  (If you look closely above, you'll see he's barefoot.  He took his boots of to "get comfortable".)  The last hour felt like we were just hanging out, singing songs. He and several members of his band & crew took turns singing songs like: Jack & Diane, Blister in the Sun, You Don't Have to Call Me Darlin', With or Without You & Last Chance with Mary Jane.  I can't even relay to you how fun it was.

Even after 3 hours...at 10:30...the crowd looked like this:
Everyone stayed the entire time.  I am sure everyone is tired today but it was well worth the late Sunday night! :)
