a quick post from Cabo...

Hi!!  Thanks to Wifi at our resort I am posting from FABULOUS Cabo!  We are having a great time...the weather is perfect & the beach is beautiful!  I can't wait to share all the pictures when I get back.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all the wonderful brithday wishes...they have been so fun to read!  I hope you all have a fabulous New Year's Eve...more posts when I get back!!

I am off to Cabo! I can't think of a better way to celebrate my 30th...I think this is gonna be a fabulous year!!  {special thanks to Robbie for house/dog sitting...you are the best!}  lots of pictures to come after my trip!  

One more thing...I just saw that I am a featured blog on The Secret is in the Sauce!!  Yay!! What a super fabulous birthday gift.  So...hello to all the bloggers coming over from SITS! Whew!  It's been crazy busy!  {the holidays always are, aren't they?!}  I feel like I have been going, going, going lately...good thing it's vacation time!  I will be spending tomorrow {well, actually today since it's after midnight} packing, cleaning & doing laundry.  fun.  I took my Christmas stuff down tonight...I really want to come home to some clean house goodness sans the Christmas stuff.  I am gonna finish getting my place together in the morning {trust me...it's crazy right now...and I am just plain tired}.

I can't believe I am going to be 30 on Monday.  WOW.  It's such a weird feeling...I think it's starting to hit me.  I feel like 30 is going to be a great year for me {hopefully}.  2008 was rough...lost my grandfather to cancer, got laid off, etc. but it was also filled with joy.  I hope 2009 is a happy & healthy year for my family, friends and myself.

I ventured out to the malls the last couple of days.  ugh.  It's ridiculous.  I still can't get over how rude people can be.  Especially when they are in their cars in mall parking lots.  I went to Nordstrom today & had the funnest make up artist help me at NARS.  He was so fun that I let him do TWO different eye make-up looks on me.  I was that girl {and I am NEVER that girl}. I ended up getting the eye shadows & some bronzer...and my new sweet friend even gave me this sparkling loose powder FOR FREE.  How nice was that.  Apparently he is one of their artists that travels around the country & he can do that.  He said it's "because you are fun!". See...being nice does pay off.  {Apparently you can mix that powder with lotion and make simmer lotion...cool.}

Well, that's all for now...gonna go to bed...lots to do tomorrow.

a very merry christmas 2008.

We had such a fabulous, very merry Christmas! The day was such a reminder of how extremely blessed we are.  In the morning, my brother, sister and I went to my parents house to open gifts from our parents and each other.  Our parents are SO wonderful and got us such great gifts! {THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM & DAD!!}  Everyone loves their gifts {including the dogs!} and we had a great day of family & fun!

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!  I can't believe it's come and gone!  I am in CABO TRIP preparation mode and am actually off to the mall in a bit to spend my Nordstrom gift cards {thanks robbie, colin & erin} to get some new goodies for my trip.  I will be 30 in 3 short days...WOW.  In the mean time, I will leave you with this...

Last night, Robbie & I exchanged our Christmas gifts since he's heading to Tyler today for Christmas with his fam.  I got him a really cool coffee table book called "The Greatest Album Covers of All Time".  It's such a cool book & he's a music snob {and collects album covers} so I knew he would love it.  I also got him "Batman Begins".  Such a guy gift.  

He got me a Nordstroms gift card {I LOVE Nordstroms!} & the next Twilight book, "New Moon", for me to take with me to Cabo.  Yay!!

After, we went to dinner & enjoyed looking at the lights and tree @ The Shops @ Legacy.  They do such an AMAZING job with their lights each year!

Tonight we are heading to my grandmother's for Christmas Eve.  It's our first Christmas without my grandfather, and he will be missed more than I can even describe.  I am excited to have time with my family though, as our Christmas Eve traditions are some of my favorites. Tomorrow we will have Christmas at my mom's house.  I can't wait!

more fabulous christmas.

Christmas is just days away...and I am so excited!  I can't wait to see my friends and family open the gifts that I carefully chose for them!  

Here are a few more Christmas decorations from casa de fabulous.  I decided to make use of a very fabulous vintage picture frame and some vintage ribbon by "framing" an ornament.  Pretty & fabulous!

And...look at this Santa.  {A gift from my mom...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!} It's probably the most fabulous Santa I've ever seen.  I love that he's white & kinda vintage-y looking.  She actually bought one for herself, too.  How awesome is it that we have to same one? :)  {Did I say THANK YOU?!!}  I love him.  

I hope you are all having a great week!  I am "working" {from home}, but since schools are out {and I am a high school speaker} there is not a whole bunch I can do.  I am working on getting my Fabulous K Creative orders wrapped up because the shop will be closing up from December 24th to January 5th.  {So...get your orders in NOW!!}

Oh...did I mention that ONE WEEK FROM TODAY I will be 30?  And, will be celebrating it on the beach in CABO.  Can't wait!!  Happy Monday!

Oh my goodness...it's cold outside.  I wish it would hang on 'til Christmas!  The cold weather really says 'holiday' doesn't it?  

I've had a fun & busy weekend.  Friday night Robbie and I went to a fundraiser for Falling Whistles {click here to read about them}.  Robbie's good childhood friend was participating in the event with her and her husband's clothing line called Veritas.  It was at a wine shop and was really fun.  I had the most amazing green apple wine there...but that's another story. There was art, clothing, Tom's Shoes & accessories...all benefiting Falling Whistles.

After, we headed to Barley House, where our friends, THE CAMPAIGN, were playing.  Have you heard of them?  If not, click here. THEY ARE AMAZING!

Saturday, I went to the ICE exhibit at The Gaylord with my mom, dad and g'ma.  It was fun...and COLD.  I can't get over all the detail that goes into that exhibit!

I can't believe that Christmas is THIS WEEK!  WOW!  By this time next week I will be packing for Cabo!  I can't believe I will be 30 a week from tomorrow.  I am so exited! Let the countdown begin...

I am off to pick up my last Christmas gifts and then to go see "Yes Man" with Robbie.  It's actually gotten good reviews.  We'll see...

It just would not be Christmas without the yummy-ness of Christmas cookies {for santa} right? Last Wednesday we put in Love Actually {love that movie, especially at Christmas time} and started baking.  We made trees, stockings, candy canes and stars and had so much fun.  I loved decorating them with my zip lock baggy piping bags.  FUN!  Robbie even made a little Christmas man from scratch because I did not have any gingerbread men cookie cutters. Gotta love it!

Another week in December has passed...Christmas is almost here!  To celebrate I thought I would share some of my fabulous holiday glam that is now in my living room thanks to CJ Riley {love. that. place.}  Oh, and did I mention it was all half off?  Fabulous.

Why, you ask?  Because they came to my rescue when my tire was FLAT because of THIS...

...a razor blade.

WHAT?!  I have no idea where this came from.  Yikes.  Gross.  Dang.  That sucks. Last Saturday, R & I noticed my rear driver's side tire looked LOW.  So, we put air in it.  Cool. But, yesterday, I ran to the store and when I got home I heard air literally hissing out of my tires. Ugh.  I had a feeling it was gonna go flat.  And it did.  When we came home from dinner it was flat as a pancake.  It's so sad to look at a flat tire. Especially when it's yours.  Sigh.  I am thankful that it was sitting in front of my house {and not on a road somewhere}.  That made it easier.  So, this morning, we headed to discount tire to see if they could patch it.  And they couldn't.  Sigh again. That stinking thing went almost all the way in the tire.  Thanks to my fabulous mom, I now have a new tire. THANK YOU ROBBIE {for taking the old tire off & putting the spare on} and THANK YOU SVETTIE {mom} for getting me a new tire.  I am blessed to have you both in my life!!  :)

On a completely unrelated, random note...does anyone else think these mannequins are inappropriately positioned?  This is Forever 21 @ NORTH PARK.  RIDICULOUS.  Look at the hands of the mannequin in the back.  WHAT IN THE WORLD...
