it's beginning to look a lot like christmas...

...especially now that the ornaments are hung on the tree. I have also managed to put out some very fabulous christmas eye candy, but you will have to wait for another post to see the rest. For now, I leave you with the teaser pic above and a wish that you are all starting to feel a little bit Christmas-sy yourself.  Be fabulous!

thanksgiving 2008

We had such a fabulous Thanksgiving! (Thanks to my mom!!)  My parents hosted Thanksgiving at their house this year and it was so much fun.  We had lots of family, food & dogs (all together there were 5...my parents dogs, my aunt's dog & Olive).  I figured the best way to share our day with you is in pictures, so here you go.  Enjoy!

So, as you can see, my mom did an amazing job of decorating and cooking.  (I definitely get my creative side from her!)  I hope you all had a fabulous day as well...now I am off to decorate my tree!  Happy black Friday! :)

happy thanksgiving!

I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life, especially my wonderful family and fabulous friends!  I hope you all enjoy your day of giving thanks.  Don't eat too much!  {yeah, right!}  :) Have a wonderful day!

turkey day. almost.

Can you believe that tomorrow is Thanksgiving?  Where has this month {and year} gone?  I am looking forward to tomorrow.  The time with my family {and yummy food...can't leave that out}, football and fun....I can't wait.

I put up my Christmas tree today.  Don't get too excited; it's not decorated.  I can't bring myself to put up the actual decorations until after turkey day.  I am excited that the hard part {getting the tree out of the closet and in one presentable piece} is done.  That means that when it's time to decorate I can focus on that and not worry about all the yucky putting the tree together part.  Yay!

Not much else is going on.  I am feeling better, for the most part, but still have a ridiculous cough and the occasional runny nose.  Yuck.  I literally spent my entire week last week at home, in pajamas with no makeup on.  Until Saturday night, that is...when I went to Swaim's b'day party.  I armed myself with lots and lots of cough drops.  In a bar.  It was awesome. Wanna see proof...here you go:

Gotta love that!  I hope you are all enjoying time off already.  Have a great time with your family!  {And don't forget to go order a new blog design from Fabulous K Creative!}

a sweet treat.

Today Robbie brought Erin & I the most delish chocolate pie--that was completely homemade. He had been making them for his work pot luck on Tuesday and was nice enough to make one for us.  What a sweet treat to have show up at our door on a Sunday evening!

Thanks Robbie!  It was so yummy!!

my wish list.

I have several things on my holiday wish list. (Emphasize the WISH part) Any one of these fabulous things would make this girl smile.  I thought I'd share, in case Santa is reading...or you need some gift ideas for those on your list!  ;)

The Book of Decorating

I am a subscriber to this magazine, so it's only fitting that I should own this book, too.

by Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen

At first I thought this book would be cheesy...after all...it's Mary Kate & Ashley.  But it's filled with gorgeous pictures and is laid out like a scrapbook.  So fabulous.

The Convertible Tote from Anthropologie.

I love the 3 handle options!

I also have my eye on a coffee table at Weirs.  It's black & very shabby chic.  Wish I could show you a picture...but you'll just have to trust me when I say it's fabulous.

Oh, and there are these 3 square antiqued mirrors at one of my & my mom's favorite boutiques. They would look divine over my bed!

I would also love a cute passport cover for my upcoming trip!

And of course...always on my list...gift cards to Nordstroms & Sephora, please!

{This what happens when you're home sick...you write notes to Santa on your blog! Ha Ha!}

Oh, and don't forget the tissues...I have 2 kinds:  Puffs with Shea Butter & Puffs with Vicks. My poor nose hates me right now, I'm sure. Hope you are all having a good week!

waco weekend.

This weekend has been a busy one!!  Saturday morning I got up, met Robbie and his apartment and then headed down to Baylor for the Baylor/Texas A&M game.  It was so much fun!  Here's what we did:

When we got to Baylor we headed straight to Spice, of course.  I love that place.  I really need to take my mom there...she would love it.  After Spice we headed to the Baylor campus and walked around.  It was windy, but so pretty outside.

Robbie enjoying one of the swing on campus
After we walked around, we met up with Swaim at Vitek's for some yummy BBQ.  After that, we headed to their friend Wade's HUGE tailgate.  And then it was game time...

The Baylor Band
Swaim & I
Robbie & I
The game was great...Baylor won (41-21).  YAY!  I am NOT an Aggie fan, especially since my team is Texas Tech.  (If you are a Red Raider fan then you know what I am talking about!) Needless to say...I am SO glad that Baylor beat A&M!

After the game, Robbie, Swaim & I went to change for dinner and then headed over to Ninfa's. It was so yummy.  And so crowded.  But, the Ninfaritas were worth the wait.  After dinner we met up with a bunch of other people that Robbie & Swaim went to school with and headed to a new bar in Waco.  We sat outside (under the heat lamp...it was cold, thankyouverymuch!) The rest of the group decided to go to Crickets but Robbie & I were so tired, so instead we went to Common Grounds.  I LOVE THAT PLACE (think Central Perk from "Friends", but waaaaay better).  It's a cute coffee shop by campus that is super eclectic and fun.  They even turned their backyard into a venue for live performances.  The Afters were playing that night (I love them!) but we missed the show because we did not get there until later in the evening.  I was kinda bummed....

BUT!!  I met the owner of Common Grounds and was super busy gushing about how fabulous her shop is when Josh Havens, the lead singer walked up to us.  We got to meet him and talk for a few minutes.  It was so cool and random.  I had just told Robbie about that band the week before.  (It's not often that I introduce a band to him...he is extremely music saavy).  So, with my Hot White Chocolate & Robbie with his Milky Way, I sat in the very fabulous Common Grounds in little Waco, TX with a huge smile on my face.  Gotta love random rockstar run-ins! (BTW--can you believe I did not think to take a picture with Josh?? GEESH!)

The view(s) from our comfy table at Common Grounds

This morning, we woke up, went to a very yummy breakfast, and then drove around Waco a bit more.  We even went to the suspension bridge over the Brazos River.  It was so nice.

A pretty fall morning by the river
We had such a good time.   I think Waco is great and really want to go back during Christmas...I would love to see Waco covered in lights!!

Then today...after we got back from Waco, I met up with my best friend Sue, and her 2 girls, Olivia & Claire. My dad (who's hobby is photography) always does Sue's holiday pictures...so we went to Downtown McKinney for a photo shoot of Olivia and Claire.  I think we got some good ones; I am sure my dad is editing them as I type this.  I will post my favorites once he sends them.

While we were waiting for him I snapped a few on my camera to get the girls smiling & warmed up for the camera.

Now, I am gonna go relax.  As you can see...I had a busy (but fabulous) weekend...and I am TIRED!!  Have a great week! :)

yummy.

Last night, Robbie & I made these Red Velvet Cake Balls from Bakerella.  (Can I just tell you how much I love that blog?  Her pictures are so amazing...full of color and fun!)  I wanted to do a test run of this recipe because I thought these would be good to take to my work Christmas party.  We had fun rolling the {messy} little red velvet balls and dipping them in white chocolate.  They are so good.  And my red velvet cake loving sister gave them a thumbs up. Test run successful...recipe approved. :)  Wanna make them yourself? You can find the recipe here.  Happy Friday!
