Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend :)

Things are good over here~ had a fun weekend. Was really low key on Friday night. Went to The Galleria on Saturday (I love the Macys there) then went over to my parent's house and watched 'Georgia Rule'. It wasn't great, but also wasn't as bad as I heard it was. After the movie, I went to dinner with my parents, brother & sister. We went to an amazing Greek restaurant (OPA!) My Grandmother is 100% Greek, so it's hard to impress us when it comes to Greek food because her's is amazing. This place is really good though! It was nice for the 5 of us to be able to get together and have dinner~rarely do we all make it to dinner together! After dinner my sister and I met some friends out for some girls time cocktails. I stuck to sugar free redbull (those cocktails are empty calories!!). I LOVE SF Redbull but I was up until 4:30 am thx to the caffeine. Not the smartest! HA! I slept in on Sunday and then we went and saw 'Dan in Real Life'. IT WAS SO GOOD! Go see it! It is kind of a 'Family Stone' only funny. (I loved that movie, too!) It really is worth the trip to the theatre.

I am gearing up for my trip to CHICAGO!! So excited. Can't wait! I looked on Weather.com to see what the weather is like there. Check it out:

Partly Cloudy
54°/41°

Partly Cloudy
58°/46°

Few Showers
56°/41°

Mostly Sunny
52°/40°

Looks good to me! It also looks like I will be taking some sweaters! YAY!

I can't believe Halloween in on Wednesday! How fun! I am going to go to my parent's house to help pass out candy. I love seeing all the kid's costumes. So fun!

Tuesday night is the premiere of the new season of NIP/TUCK. Love that show. They are moving it from Miami to LA. This show is definitely a guilty pleasure.
It's going to be soo good!

Also, tonight on THE BACHELOR are the 4 hometown dates. I love this part of the season. It starts getting GOOD!

Well, that's about it for today. Have a great week! :)

10 random thoughts...

1. I am kind of tired today. I stayed up late helping my sis with baby shower invites and I was dragging this morning. I do feel better after my JC "sunshine sandwich" (think egg mcmuffin) and sugar free red bull. I ♥ that stuff. Seriously.

2. I am wearing some really cute pants today that are THREE sizes smaller. LOVE THAT! There is really nothing more motivating than wearing smaller pants. It makes me want to go shopping for more smaller pants. And, it makes me want to work out. See ya at 5 ish, GYM!

3. I feel so sad for the residents of Cali that are dealing with the fires. How horrible. To think about all of their possesses that are lost. It breaks my heart!

4. I do think J Lo is preggo. I saw her on Dancing with the Stars last night and I think I saw a baby bump. I am also not sure why I care. Hmmm.

5. I am still loving the weather. And the fall clothes. LOVE IT!

6. I am so happy that Gossip Girl is on tonight. It's such a guilty pleasure.

7. I can't wait for my Chicago trip. It will be so great to see my family, explore the city, shop with my mom on Michigan Ave, have some yummy Chicago food and enjoy my hotel on Michigan Ave. (I have a room all to myself...even thinking about it makes me more relaxed!)

8. I am already starting to think of how I want to decorate for Christmas. It will be fabulous!

9. I love my dog! She is the cutest and is always so happy to see me. I love that she follows me around wherever I go and lightly places her paw on my knee so that I will rub her. Dogs are awesome!

10. I need some advice on good songs that pump you up when working out. I want to add some new songs onto my iPod. Working out to music makes it more fun!

There ya go... 10 randoms for today!

So much fun!

It's OFFICIALLY fall!! I actually wore my favorite jean jacket over my sweater on my way into work this morning! My desktop thermometer (thanks Weather.com) says it's 52 degrees. LOVE IT! YAY for cooler temps and fall clothes :)

We had a FABULOUS weekend with our good family friends, The J's. They came to visit us last Thurday-Sunday from KC. Here's a rundown of their trip:

Thursday we went and picked them up at the airport in a limo. My dad thought it would be fun to suprise the kiddos with that and they loved it! Hannah called it her "Hannah Montana" car & Hayden kept saying "Biiiiiiig Car". So cute. We headed over to my parents house, had lunch and then the kids napped while Melanie, my mom & I went around to a few little stores. When we got back the kids went swimming. Even heated the pool was kind of cold so they ended up both "swimmin" in the jacuzzi.

After that we all just hung out. My mom made a fabulous dinner and it was nice to relax. Asher, my brother, uncle, dad and mom played poker while Mel and I watch HGTV. Mel is so fun...she's like my big sister. It was so nice to spend time with her!

The next morning I went over to my parent's house. Mel, my mom and I hung out with the kids while the guys golfed. It was SO beautiful outside! We spent a lot of time relaxing on my parent's back porch.

The beautiful day!

After lunch, naps & golfing we all headed down to The State Fair of Texas. It was SO great! They weather was perfect & we call had such a blast!!
I love that the bear made it into the fun picture!

Erin & Hannah after a fun house

My sister & her HUGE corn on the cob - YUM!

Mel & Erin on the Texas Star
Erin was terrified!

We ♥ the fair!

The next day my mom, Mel, Erin and I went to downtown McKinney to shop. Asher & my dad took Hannah & Hayden to the aquarium so we had some fun girls time. We had lunch at 'Spoons' and went to all the shops. If you've never been up there you need to grab some girlfriends and go. It's fabulous!! I FINALLY found a chair for my bedroom...my mom and I recovered it and it's perfect. I will post more on that later. After shopping & the aquarium my parents and Mel & Asher went to dinner so Erin & I watched Hannah & Hayden.

We ordered pizza, went to Coldstone and ate it at the lake in my neighborhood.
Hannah & Hayden enjoying the view

After that we went back to my parent's to wait for them to get home. We sang songs, played "Simon Says" and acted silly all night!

It was such a fun trip! I love them all and was so sad to see them leave. Can't wait to see them again soon!

On another note...
I went to JC on Sunday and made it to a pretty big milestone. I hit the 20 pound mark! WHOO HOO! I am so excited. I don't know what it is about the number 20 but it just makes it seem so official. When people ask I can say "I've lost 20 pounds". It feels so great. I can't wait to lose the next 20!! Have you called Jenny yet?!! Hee hee :)

Now...onto my fabulous chair. I have been looking for a funky chair that I can put into my 'shabby chic' bedroom and finally found one this weekend. Melanie gave me $$ and a card for a housewarming gift and I ended up using it while we were shopping to buy the chair. I am glad she was there with me. I did not take any 'before' pictures but here is the after. We recovered it and I made the pillow. I LOVE IT!

Whew! That was a long post! Hope everyone is having a great week and is enjoying the cooler temps as much as I am :)

Lots to blog about!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was great! :)

Saturday was the baby shower for Wesley & Jeff Brady. It was at my parent's house and everyone had a really great time! I took lots of pics for your blog reading pleasure...here they are:

My mom made an adorable "Baby Socks" tree
as a centerpiece for one of the tables.
I love those little mini baby bootie "uggs"! So cute!

She also got a Sprinkles Cupcake Tower - YUM!

This is Big Brother, Sam.
He's about to turn 4 in a few weeks.

This is soon-to-be Big Sister, Savannah.
She's about to turn 1 in a few weeks.

Opening Presents!! FUN!

Even Jeff got into the fun.

Sam was such a good helper!

Savannah thought the tissue paper was much more interesting :)

Sam being a silly "bow head"!

Mommy & a very sleepy Savannah
Parties are hard work!

So...as you can see, we had a GREAT time! Here's a fun side note: Sam, Savannah and Baby #3 (being induced 11/7) all have birthdays in a 10 day period in November! That will make for an easy big joint birthday party! :)

Funny story...Many of you know that our house is loyal to 2 college teams...

TEXAS TECH & NOTRE DAME

Those are our teams! Well, Jeff went to Texas A&M and Texas Tech played them in football on Saturday. Fully knowing that we would have our Tech flag out and waiving proudly, he made sure to bring a little A&M into the house...

Those are Savannah's bloomers! As cute as they are...I am happy to say that TECH won (35-7) and now we are ranked in the Top 25! Whoo hoo! WRECK 'EM TECH!!

Also, Saturday my parents got to show off their newly re-decorated family room. It looks amazing! So warm and cozy, it is such an awesome place to spend time with family and friends. My mom did an amazing job! Here are a few pictures:

It looks even better in person--the colors are a little off when you look @ them in pictures on the computer.

So, there you go! It was a fun weekend! I am so excited to only have a 3 day work week this week...The J's get here on Thursday. YAY! (My parents got a limo for us to suprise them with when we pick them up at the airport--I can't wait to see Hannah and Hayden's faces...they will be SO excited!)

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

A day in the life of 2 pups

Meet Izzy & Rudy.
Izzy is my dog and Rudy is my parent's dog & her (twin) brother.

My parents have 3 dogs that live with them...

Bella, a 5 pound chihuahua dachshund mix and Izzy (my dog) and Rudy, who are 35 & 45 pound mini Australian Shepherds. Izzy lives with my parents because she and Rudy are brother and sister and BEST friends (they seriously love each other and never leave each other's side) and I live in an apartment while my parents have house with a huge backyard & pool that they love to play in. It's just a better environment for Izz to be in. Anyway...

Yesterday my Greek Grandmother came over to my parent's house to help my mom make trigana, a Greek appetizer, for the baby shower. My mom put Izzy & Rudy in the backyard and closed the doggie door just to get them out of the way for a bit. A little while later she noticed that they were not making any noise (it's kind of like when kids are quiet...you just know they are up to no good!) She decided to go check on them and they were gone. Vanished! No where to be seen!! She looked all around and there were no holes dug under the fence. Now, in my parents backyard they have a really tall wooden fence and then the door/gate is black rod iron. Bella, the 5 pound dog, could easily get through the gate but Izzy & Rudy are WAY too big...

Or so we thought.

My mother and Grandmother got in the car looking for the pups--calling their names, etc. NOTHING. They decided to go home after a while...both dogs are micro chipped and also have collars with their names and my parents number embroidered on them along with their tags with the vet's number. When they got home my mom left the back door open and about 10 minutes later she heard something scratching the gate and some crying...

It was IZZY & RUDY and THEY CAME BACK!!

She said that they were standing there panting and were too tired to even try to squeeze back in. They went right into the house (with VERY filthy paws from all of that exploring!), drank LOTS of water and slept for hours. I guess their little joy-ride wore them out. I have no doubt that my sweet little Izzy was the ring leader of all of that (she's the mischevious one) but I am so thankful that they did not get hurt. Needless to say, the gate is now completely blocked off and my parents are keeping a close eye on those 2 mischievous pups. Thank God they are OK. I think they must really love us and their home as much as we love them because they came home!

Nothing like home sweet home, huh puppies? :)

Happy October!!

I ♥ October. Why? Because it's fall. Officially. The calendar says so. Oh, and one of my absolute favorite holidays is in October...HALLOWEEN! I ♥ Halloween. It's so fun. I am playing around with my blog layout trying to come up with a spooky Halloween one. So stay tuned for that, hee hee :0)

My weekend was good... spent a lot of time with family and friends, which is always a good thing. JC is still going great and I am still working out. It's definitely becoming a life change. I have to say that the weekends are the hardest...not because of temptations, but because I have no schedule or structure on the weekends and I sometimes forget that it's time to eat. Yeah, weird, I know.

I am SO loving all the shows on now! Dancing with the Stars, The Bachelor, The Hills, Gossip Girl, Greys, Brothers & Sisters. Love 'em all. Don't worry...all these shows are not making me a couch potato--I make myself workout before I watch them! There is another show called Pushing Daisies that I want to watch. I think it starts Wed. Guess I will add that to the DVR list! :0)

Well, this post is really much about nothing but it's October and it's fall so I don't care :0) Now, if only the weather would catch up...
